First Year Program
This program includes instruction in Relationship with God, Basics of Righteousness, Receiving from God, Old Testament Survey, and many other classes that will give the student a solid biblical foundation. Emphasis will be on faith, grace, and walking with the Holy Ghost through the work of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Another aspect of the Bible Training Institute program is "practical ministry." Academics are important, but those who are going into the ministry must know how to do the work of the ministry. We strive for a balance between a knowledge of Scripture and practical ministry experience.
A student enrolled in the Bible Training Institute program will be required to volunteer 6 hours per term in practical ministry in either a local church, Charis Bible College, or any CBC-approved ministry. There are many opportunities to serve depending on one's interests, talents, and available time.
Through the Bible Training Institute, a student will not only be prepared with a proper biblical understanding, but will receive training in the practical application, to meet the needs of God's people and to bring the lost into the kingdom of God.
Upon the satisfactory completion of this program, a student will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students must finish this program before entering the second-year program.
Second Year Program
The following are some of the classes offered in the School of Practical Ministry: New Testament Survey, Ministry of Excellence, Discipleship/Evangelism, Making of a Minister and more. The classes cover very practical aspects of the ministry.
This program offers Inter-Action Groups—IAGs (small workshop/training groups), on-the-job training, class instruction, and mission trips. This is a time of learning by doing: a time for the student to gain valuable experience in his/her respective field of ministry.
Upon the successful completion of the second year, the student will receive a diploma and be eligible to be licensed. After six months the student can apply for ordination.
Apprenticeship Program
Upon successfully completing CBC’s two-year program, you will receive your well-deserved degree in Biblical Studies and a ministerial license from Andrew Wommack, Founder and President of Charis Bible College.
For many, this will fulfill their educational goals. But for those of you who feel called to the ministry full-time, the third-year program is for you. It’s important to note that this is not limited to the five-fold ministry. There are also studies for those whom God is leading into the ministry of helps. They include everything from the business and legal side of church administration to video and audio production, evangelism, youth ministry, and much more; all very vital parts of the body.
In the third year, along with completing required classes in subjects such as Ministry Fundamentals, Business Principles and Management, Leadership, Teaching Practices, and Public Speaking, you will hear from seasoned men and women of God who are successful pastors and para church ministers. There will also be opportunities to visit several local churches and ministries to see firsthand the realities of leadership and practical servant hood. See our Apprentice Course Description for more detail.
